# Bridgeline API

> Price premium financing from your own systems, and send your client an interactive quote.

The Bridgeline API lets an insurance agency price premium financing without leaving its own tools. Send the policies you want financed and get back every down payment and term we can offer, with the APR and every payment worked out to the cent. Each quote also comes with a page your client can open on their phone, compare the options and tell your broker which one they want.

It runs on the same pricing and the same rules as the Bridgeline portal, so a quote from the API matches what your team sees there.

## Who it's for

Agencies that want financing inside their agency management system, comparative rater, client portal or internal tools. A developer at the agency, or a vendor working for one, builds the integration. Your producers keep working in the systems they already use.

## How it works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Quote">
    `POST /v1/quotes` with the insured and their policies. You get back a quote: the full grid of options, what we assumed, whether the deal is eligible, and a `hosted_url`.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Share">
    Send the `hosted_url` to your client. They see every option on one page, pick one and tap **I'm interested**, with an optional note.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Follow up">
    We email your broker straight away. `GET /v1/quotes/{id}` shows the choice, the note and whether the email went out. Your broker finishes the deal in the Bridgeline portal.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What's available today

The API is in private beta. These endpoints are live:

| Endpoint | What it does |
| - | - |
| [`POST /v1/quotes`](/api-reference/quotes/create) | Price one or more policies financed together as one loan |
| [`GET /v1/quotes/{id}`](/api-reference/quotes/retrieve) | Read a quote back, including your client's response |
| [`POST /v1/quotes/{id}/hosted-link`](/api-reference/quotes/hosted-link) | Replace a quote's link to the interactive page |
| [`GET /v1/coverage-types`](/api-reference/coverage-types) | The coverage types a policy can list |
| [`GET /v1/whoami`](/api-reference/whoami) | Check an API key and see who it acts as |
| [`POST /v1/test_helpers/quotes/{id}/interest`](/api-reference/test-helpers/quote-interest) | Test keys only: act out your client tapping **I'm interested** |

Apart from the test helper, every endpoint works with a live key (`bl_live_`) or a test key (`bl_test_`). Test keys get real pricing with no real-world effects; see [test and live mode](/concepts/test-and-live-mode).

Applications, e-signature, loans and webhooks are on the [roadmap](/roadmap). Until they ship, your broker takes an accepted quote forward in the Bridgeline portal.
